Missing Magic

"I did not like this book a lot. I would rate it a ⅕ or a ⅖. I thought it was a book for a much younger age group. The illustrations though, were fairly detailed. It was a book about these kids who help secret animals get better, but at the start they hate each other then end up becoming friends and work partners to save their jobs. I think that I would have maybe liked the book a bit more if I would have read the first two books in the series before I read this book. I recommend this book to you if you are around grade 5, if you like reading about fantasy/magic, and I also highly recommend that you shouldn’t read this book until you have read the first two books of the magical animal adoption agency book series."

"I didn't really like this book. It was a bit all over the place for me. I would rate this ⅖. It was long and boring also. The main character is Clover. We don't get to know a lot about her such as, her age, her family. The book felt unfinished also. I would recommend this book for a younger grade such as grade two."

"I didn't really enjoy this book because I'm not a fan of fantasy books. This book is about two friends that are experts on magical animals. I'd rate this book a 3/10 in my opinion and would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and animals."

"In this book there was many twists. I enjoyed this book a lot, I would rate this book ⅘ because it was good but I thought younger kids should read this book not grade 7s. This book was about 2 people who worked at a magical animal agency with their boss, everyone was perfectly fine and how they were supposed to be until 1 of the people who worked there grabbed this beautiful sun necklace out of a box, but the necklace was cursed, but she didn’t know that. She put it on as soon as she saw it, she knew it wasn’t hers but it was beautiful and she couldn’t resist. When she had it on she touched all of the animals, after she touched them they got sick, they couldn’t figure out why there were sick until near the end of the book. When they figured it out that it was the necklace, she couldn’t take it off, they found this special spell to reverse the curse. To reverse the curse she had to have a moon bath. When she finished her bath, she could finally take the necklace off. When the necklace was off they quickly went around the agency and checked the animals, all of the animals were ok. In the end everyone wasn’t sick and everyone was happy."

"I didn't like how this book was magical, too long and too boring. This book was organized well and that made it a little better. However, it was SO BORING that sometimes I wished I could just finish it really fast. This book definitely deserves a zero out of five. It is really hard to recommend this book to someone because it is so long that younger kids would never want to read it. That is why I recommend this book to really strong readers in younger grades. This book is really disappointing and how am I supposed to write a nice review on a terrible book? I didn’t understand why the main character, Clover, had to shine the unicorns’ horns with weird stuff like moonbeans. Where did you even find the moonbeans - the moon, seriously? Although this book was terrible, I think it would be a better book for younger graders if it wasn’t so long and if it had a climax."

"This book was plain out boring for a grade seven student. It would be more suitable for a grade two student. I think this because it was very repetitive. Also, things happened in the book that were so… out of place. Like when the phoenix died permanently. Phoenixes never die forever! I didn’t like it, but a grade two or three student sure would. I would rate this book a ⅖ because it was too immature. This book should not be a grade seven Red Cedar."

"My opinion is yet the same as everyone else, this book was terrible and was definitely a ⅕ . It has got to be the most boring book I have ever read in my life. In my opinion I would recommend this book for preschoolers or kindergarteners, not grade 7’s. Most of the story did not make much sense since this is the third book which was very annoying and I would never read this book again."

"Everyone says this book is terrible. My opinion? The same. This was probably the worst book I have ever read and I feel like it didn’t even have the key factors to a decent book. When I read a book I expect there to be a big problem, a deadline to solving said problem and all the characters are on the edge and there has to be life threat to make you want to know the rest, there also needs to be loss of life to make the main character more real life and relatable, in a good book you feel the character, you become the character. A perfect example of this is this book, if you totally reversed the things it needs to be a good book.

The problem of this book was obvious to the reader and the stakes weren’t even off the ground yet so definitely not high stakes. Therefore no need to solve the problem anytime soon, frankly I’m surprised Oliver and Clover didn’t go out to get lunch and have a tea party! The only stakes in this book was that every animal was going to be normal, WHO CARES, you didn’t even know the character and you were somehow supposed to feel sympathy for her, she wasn’t even on the edge she had no feeling, there was only one life threatening danger and it was boredom. My life was in danger because I was bored to death and thought I would never be done reading this awful book. If I can I rate this book 0/5, if I can’t then I rate it ⅕ either way I recommend this book to someone who runs a preschool and needs a nap time /storytime book, the kids would love it!"

"This book made no sense in my mind, and it was cringe worthy. This book is about a girl named Clover who works at the Magical Animal Adoption Agency. The pictures were really distracting and hard to read with them on the page. I would give this book 5/10 for story and 1/10 for actually making sense. I would recommend this book to younger grades."

"To be honest I didn’t like reading this book as much as the other ones I have read. There were some things I liked and didn’t like. I adored how they got so creative with the magical animals. However I found the animals a little more appealing to younger kids. I wish that they added more detail about “Clover” the main character. Such as knowing her age or what her family is like. Also I found that there wasn’t much detail about other things going on in the book. The book felt very unfinished to me I find knowing details helps me shape the story in my mind. I would rate this book a 3 out of 5. I would recommend this book to kids younger than me."

"I really did not like this book because it was very strange. It was pretend animals like unicorns and flying dogs. If you liked books that are about fantasy and imaginary animals you would probably love this book. It was pretty boring to me because I like books about action and books that are about exotic places and animals. I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't like imaginary things because that's what this book is about. I would rate it 1/5."
