All the Dirt

"This book was very weird, it wasn't my favourite book. I really didn't like it. I would recommend this strange book to people who would like to learn about how they cleaned in the early stages of living humans. And also people who like books about history. It was pretty disgusting when it said that people had lice and fleas and didn't even care…...I would rate this book a ⅖ because it wasn't that good."

"I really liked this book. I would rate it a ⅘. The book is about a history of getting clean. It talks about getting clean in Greece to Italy to Finland to Canada and so much more places. It has mini stories too which are really interesting too. It shows everyone’s different perspective on getting clean and how they do it. The illustrator made some really neat drawings and pictures. It also has lots of facts about germs on the human body and how people in different places get clean. I also really liked how in each chapter it showed what they were talking about from a certain year and a certain place. I didn’t know a lot about getting clean and I also didn’t know that there was anywhere near this much information on getting clean. It is interesting how they also showed the steps of getting clean throughout many different places around the world. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I would most likely recommend this book to people who like history and I guess getting/staying clean."

"At first I did not like this book's title because I assumed it would be very boring. But I judged this book by it’s cover. I ended up learning a lot from this book and it was really interesting so I would give this book a 4.5/5. It was definitely not my favorite book but I still thought it was really cool. I would recommend this book to anyone because I’m sure that most people would learn new things from it."

"I found this book offensive. Not only does it refer multiple times to nakedness and poop, it almost swears, two times in the same article with the word arswipe. I find that the author really didn't think about the fact that there are children reading, because it was quite inappropriate. It even refers to the belief that we don't need to wash, and even says the belief might be correct, which I find ridiculous. Being clean is just a natural part of society, and to be brutally honest, if you smell bad, people don't really like you. It even slightly made fun of religious people (not me) because they once believed that they were paying tribute to god by not washing. All in all, this book was not very good. I rate it a ⅖."

"This book is a great book for this grade but I would recommend it to some people that like smaller books. This book is about the history of washing your body and hands it has some facts some stories and lots of cool stuff. I would rate this book a 2/5 because i did not really like it that much. I mean like it was a little interesting but its not my kind of book."

"I think this book is just plain gross. It had some interesting short stories. I would recommend this book to no one because it is not a book I could think of someone wanting to read a book about the history of bathing. It mainly focused on the history of Greek and Roman bathing and how bathing isn't really necessary. I would rate this book two out of five. One short story I enjoyed in this book was about how the showers drained through a hole in the early 1700’s. In this book I enjoyed the art which was very unique."

"I have to say, this book is great and interesting, but I didn't like it that much. I found it a bit gross, I would recommend it to older grades, because it has really important information about getting clean. I would rate it ⅗ stars."

"All The Dirt is not that good of a book. It is not that interesting. I did not like reading this book because it repeated a lot. It had some cool stuff about history but not that much. I like the pictures because they were from the past and were pretty cool. It talked a lot about the Europeans and what they did in the past. A fact from the book is that the Greeks appreciated water but the Romans adored it. If I were to rate this book I would give it a 3/5."
